Kiln Fired Enamels

Workshop

This is a one-day class focusing on beautiful kiln-fired enamels on copper and silver.

Students will create a simple textured pendant or earrings in silver, and apply transparent glass enamels to their piece.

Beginners to jewellery making will start with pre-formed copper shapes to get an understanding of how the enamelling process works. They will be shown how to apply textures and small alterations to the pieces using either hammers and/or punches before prepping the metal for the glass enamel. After a lunch break they can then design and create their silver pendant or earrings.

Those with some metalwork experience can take on a more advanced textured piece. They can also start in copper if they prefer, or go straight into silver.

Tickets price includes $40 of materials

Advanced students are encouraged to take extra time in the design step, considering carefully how they will incorporate enamel colours into their work.

This workshop is aimed at giving students a good foundation in enamelling skill as well as producing something wearable to take home.

Ticket price includes $40 of materials.
