Kelly McDonald is an artist based in Te Whanganui-a-Tara Wellington. Her work is a playful investigation of materials and their previous lives. McDonald’s childhood growing up near the largest brown coal deposit in the southern hemisphere informs her visual language. She collects discarded domestic and industrial artefacts, deconstructing, reconstructing, and arranging them, bringing these potent, much-handled objects into surprising new relationships with each other and the body, in turn, transgressing the boundaries of wearability, and creating a subversive material language that speaks directly to the territories between people and things.
David Long is a musician, composer and producer, with a career spanning 40 years. He has composed scores for over twenty feature films and worked on numerous projects to critical acclaim including best TV score at the 2020 and 2022 APRA Awards for the BBC dramas, The Luminaries and Mystic respectively. He has worked on all of Peter Jackson's films of the last two decades. He released the solo albums Ash and Bone in 2022, I’ll Hum the First Few Bars in 2023, and All things, will stay, silent in 2024. He was a founding member of The Mutton Birds and performs with two bands, The Labcoats and Teeth.
