Annie Mackenzie lives in the village of Torea Granity, on the West Coast of Te Waipounamu, the South Island of Aotearoa. Where she maintains a practice as a spinner, weaver, occasional dyer and easily distracted gardener. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in sculpture from the University of Canterbury Te Whare W_nanga o Waitaha. Over the past decade Annie has established herself as handloom weaver learning her craft through the New Zealand Woolcrafts Society of Spinners and Weavers Guilds. She was the recipient of Dame Doreen's Gift from the Blumhardt Foundation in 2024.
