In the parlance of software technology, a leaky abstraction is an abstraction that leaks details it is supposed to abstract away. When users become aware of the complexity behind an abstraction, it sense of being is considered lost.

We at the guild seek to shine a light on the leaks and slippage that occur in an artist’s practice, and present an exhibition that celebrates making and process. Here, we show the work we make when we are not making work.

This concept has been developed for Nelson Jewellery Week and will speak to our fellow jewellers and friends of jewellers.
