Whaea Paula talks Atua stories, oversharing concepts with Neke Moa, jeweller, kaitiaki of toaka gifted from places visited, and K.O.P print maker, light bender, and stylist.
The pieces in this show are a result of sharing treasured stories, delving into valued experiences, and forging them together to produce taoka to adorn precious ideas.
These pieces have travelled from studios, created out of discussions, expressing concepts private to the makers, ready to be morphed into the constructed identity of the wearer. Each wearing, an exhibition in itself.
This exhibition runs beyond the NJW dates - 10th April - 10th May

Toi.Moana: A collective of artists, founded by Neke Moa, Kristin O'Sullivan Peren (K.O.P) and Whaea Paula Conroy.
This is the first outing for Toi Moana, a collective of artists who create work that addresses the challenges they feel as woman who are Maori. Each have different experiences, different levels of success or failures within their own Maori identity and their own multi-culturalism. Toi.Moana is an attempt to honor different journeys, hold spaces open for it's members and to learn from each other.
